Names of people who staffed the various other departments at the Music Circus are gathered here from the playbills we have of each show. It appears that other than the top ranking positions at the theater, the lower level positions were haphazardly listed in the playbills from production to production and year to year. The same position might be given slightly different titles with each playbill too.
Many of these jobs (stage crew, usherettes, parking attendants, apprentices) were filled with local High School students and it may have been their first job, but it gave them invaluable experience working for a professional organization and exposure to people from outside of the Lambertville area.
Tom Billings, General Manager 1951-1952, tells us that Lou Marini, the concessions manager back then, experimented with giving away free bags of salted popcorn to customers as they walked into the tent to try to build sales of his very expensive soda-pop at intermission time. The soda was good stuff of a little known prestige brand in 6 oz. bottles (maybe "Hoffman") that Lou sold for 15 cents in an era when a bottle of Coke still cost only five cents.
